All the staff we came across were very friendly & approachable. Lovely accommodation, thr pool was perfect after a long day of walking. We also had a two course meal on our first night which was lovely too. Thank you for making this a special weekend for my husband’s birthday including beautifully made cupcakes brought to our room.

My wife and I stayed for two nights and while the hotel is in a lovely location the room was completely unacceptable. We arrived at about midnight following our wedding and woke to find that the room had clearly suffered a large water leak at some point in the past. A huge area of the ceiling was water marked and cracked with plaster falling off the ceiling. A piece of plaster actually fell off during our stay! If we'd have seen the state of the ceiling on arrival we would've immediately demanded a different room. There was also evidence of damp round the corners of the room. The fact that the hotel knowingly rents this room out in this order at a price of well over £200 a night is shameful! I can only assume this reflects the hotel's attitude towards their customers and wonder how long they have been letting it out in this state? I presume they just hope nobody complains while they happily accept their money! I complained to reception and was offered to change room but there wasn't much point as we were only there for one more night. The damage was already done to be honest. The lady on reception was not particularly apologetic and admitted she knew about the room in question. I twice asked at reception for a formal response from someone in management but have yet to receive contact. I hoped it would be dealt with at checkout but I spoke with another not particularly apologetic receptionist who simply informed me to send an email, as she was not in a senior position. The room, ceiling aside, was pretty basic and again I would expect better when you are paying £200-£300 per night! The general hotel grounds and location are great. The roof terrace was shut for maintenance, which is fair enough. One of the saunas was also out of action, again things do need to be repaired. Food was okay but nothing special and somewhat overpriced, as you would expect from any hotel that claims to be high end. Restaurant staff were very pleasant but should probably not openly discuss their issues with management implementing shift patterns which mean they work till late then start early the next morning. Although guests don't want to hear this when they're having their food it does sound a rough deal for staff so may be management should look at that while they also address the state of their rooms! Overall, a very disappointing experience at a hotel who clearly don't pride themselves on standards or first impressions! Hopefully someone form management reads this and looks into this matter so other guests do not have the same disappointing experience!

The cake and coffee were overpriced, and the cake itself was dry. It was our first time visiting, and we had booked treatments at the Cowshed, which were good overall. The treatment and ladies were professional. On arrival, we were asked if we would like water, but no one ever brought us any. The treatments were also running late. We had booked 30-minute treatments, but my friend's treatment finished around 10 minutes early. Overall, the attention to detail was lacking, which was disappointing given the prices charged. While the treatments themselves were enjoyable, the overall experience did not meet expectations.

Can't fault the staff who were so polite, friendly & helpful. Rooms were clean & had everything you needed, I like the fact a iunt of milk was left in the fridge to use for tea & coffee making. So much nicer than the horrible cartons. I've marked location down as its not as near the beach as suggested. It is a steep walk down & up to get to the beach which some people would struggle with.

The girls at the Cowshed Spa were really nice and friendly and the one who did my nails tried her best. I’m afraid she did a really poor job on my nails, the polish was really old thick and gloopy. After telling her that I thought the polish was a bit thick and needed thinner, she agreed and eventually found a new polish of the same colour but it was a bit too late for it. The layers aren’t smooth and my nails look bumpy. I could have done a better job myself. It’s a shame as I know the girl tried her best, it was just a bad manicure and pedicure which I’m going to have to redo myself.
