We chose Budock Vean Hotel & Spa for a hen weekend, expecting a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, we left feeling extremely disappointed and uncomfortable.During breakfast, the restaurant manager approached me in front of other guests and told me to cover up, despite the fact that I was already wearing a pareo. We had seen no clearly stated dress code for breakfast and were dressed ready to use the pool and spa afterwards. Being singled out and spoken to like this in front of other guests was humiliating and completely unprofessional. What made the situation even more upsetting was that, as Turkish guests, we were left questioning why we had been singled out in this way. The treatment we received genuinely made us feel that we may have been discriminated against. No guest should ever be made to wonder whether they are being treated differently because of their nationality.The “spa hotel” experience was also very disappointing. The pool is extremely shallow, the spa facilities are limited, and during our visit we did not find the spa area sufficiently clean or well maintained. For the price and the way this hotel is marketed, we expected a much higher standard.Most concerning was how our complaint was handled. If a guest tells you that they have been publicly humiliated and are concerned about possible discrimination, that should be taken seriously. Instead, we felt that our concerns were not properly addressed or taken seriously. What should have been a special hen weekend ended with us feeling upset and let down. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Budock Vean Hotel & Spa, particularly if you are expecting a quality spa experience and professional customer service.

What an amazing hotel ! Had great stay with my dogs everything is so comfortable and easy dogs are allowed everywhere! The restaurant was lovely very nice walk to the beach. This is the most comfortable hotel and convenient hotel when you have dogs. I can’t wait to return 😊 thank you so much ! I hope that all places become dog friendly like this !

We love Budock Vean - but it is currently switching ownership and undergoing work. The restaurant food was not of the high standard we enjoyed 2 years ago. Breakfast all good. The grounds are fabulous though and the hotel has a relaxed feel. Will definitely revisit once the work is finished.

Rooms were comfortable and clean. The mattresses were old and soft. The drive in is narrow and difficult. At check in, reception booked me for breakfast at 8am the next morning. However at breakfast I was told that because I had booked for 815, I had to wait for the other 8am guests to order first. That was disappointing and frustrating because it wasn’t my fault. I brought my kids to the indoor pool after dinner, only to be told by another guest that children aren’t allowed after 7pm. I checked with another staff and he had to check with reception himself (obviously the sign for this is too small). Reception should have told me this at check in because we had all changed and got into the pool already. I then recalled reception didn’t book me in for breakfast for the next morning. By the time I called, the 8am slot was full (yes breakfast hours are 8-10am). I asked if I could come earlier. She said yes at 730 but there’s no cooked food until 8. I asked for the next available slot which was 815, thinking I could turn up at 745 and start first, before the cooked food at 8. The next morning, I was made to feel like a difficult customer. After chiding me for turning up early, the head waitress proceeded to ignore me and refused to take my order until 815. This despite the fact that all the 8am customers had already ordered and that I had only wanted smoked salmon and eggs. Overall it was a horrible experience for me and my family.

Tranquillity, amazing location and wonderful service and facilities. We had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay. The spa facilities are excellent, the gardens beautiful and the whole atmosphere was perfect for relaxation and enjoying a slice of luxury in the beautiful Cornish countryside. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms large and comfortable and the food excellent. We will definitely be returning.
